Towle Silverplate Tray & Crystal Bowl Set

Holiday-ready: fill the crystal bowl with sugared cranberries or peppermints and set it out for guests. It makes a beautiful hostess gift, too.

A cut crystal bowl and a silverplate salver, found separately and put together because they belong together. The bowl's deep octagonal cane cutting picks up the light; the tray's scalloped Chippendale rim frames it beautifully.

Set it on a sideboard with citrus or cut hydrangea, use it as a bar station for lemons and limes, or let it hold nothing at all and simply catch the afternoon light.

• Crystal bowl: approximately 8.25" diameter x 3.25" high. Lead crystal — it rings when struck. Starburst cut base, octagonal cane pattern to the sides.
• Silver tray: Towle silverplate, pattern 4033, approximately 12" diameter. Shaped Chippendale rim with an engraved acanthus scroll center.

Condition: Both pieces in very good vintage condition. The crystal has a few tiny internal bubbles, characteristic of the way it was made and not damage. The tray shows light surface wear consistent with age and use. No chips, cracks, dents, or repairs.
