About Laura

Hi, I’m Laura!

I grew up in New York City, studied business and economics, earned my MBA from UVA, and spent many years working in corporate finance for brands including GE, Philips, and Guinness.

But somewhere along the way, I discovered that what I loved most wasn’t sitting in spreadsheets- it was creating beautiful spaces, hunting for unique treasures, and finding the pieces that make a home feel personal and collected.

What started as a passion for antiques, estate sales, and styling my own home eventually became Blue Peony Interiors... a place where I share the finds, inspiration, and design ideas that catch my eye.

I believe the most beautiful homes aren’t perfectly designed overnight. They’re gathered thoughtfully over time. A vintage painting from an estate sale, a silver bowl that has lived a hundred stories before yours, a favorite lamp, a stack of well-loved books- these are the things that give a home its soul.

When I’m not hunting for treasures, you’ll usually find me chasing adventures with my two elementary school aged kids, browsing antique stores, rearranging a shelf for the hundredth time, or dreaming up my next home project.

I live in North Carolina with my husband, our two children, and a very opinionated Cavapoo who supervises most decorating projects.

A Few Things I Love

  • Fresh flowers on the kitchen counter.
  • Estate sales, antique stores, and the thrill of finding something beautiful.
  • Mixing old and new pieces until a room feels collected rather than decorated.
  • A slow beach day with a good book and nowhere to be.
  • Blue and white china, original art, and anything with a story behind it.
  • Cozy lamp light and a comfy chair.
  • Family movie nights, neighborhood walks, and spontaneous adventures with my husband and our two kids.
  • A bottle of crisp white wine shared among friends on a warm evening.
  • Browsing Pinterest for “just one minute” and resurfacing an hour later.
  • The first cool day of fall, hydrangeas in the summer, and Christmas decorating way too early.
  • Finding beauty in everyday things and helping others do the same in their homes.

Thank you for being here. I hope Blue Peony Interiors inspires you to create a home that feels layered, welcoming, and uniquely your own.
