About Laura

Hi, I’m Laura, a mom of two, founder of Blue Peony Interiors, and a lifelong lover of beautiful spaces and things with a story.

I’ve always believed the best homes aren’t decorated all at once. They’re collected over time.

My path to interiors wasn’t exactly a straight one. I studied business and economics, earned my MBA, and spent much of my career working in corporate finance. Creativity was always something I loved, but for a long time it lived mostly outside of my work.

When my family moved to Charlotte in 2024, something shifted. With a new home to make our own, my love for interiors really took off. I found myself spending more and more time at estate sales, antique shops, vintage markets, and thrift stores, searching for pieces that made our home feel layered, interesting, and personal.

Somewhere along the way, I realized that creating a beautiful home has very little to do with buying everything new or getting everything finished. I love the mix. An antique painting next to something contemporary. Silver pulled out for everyday use. A Goodwill find that somehow becomes the most talked about piece in the room. The things I love most are usually the ones with a little history, character, or an unexpected story behind them.

That love of finding, styling, and reimagining beautiful things became Blue Peony Interiors.

Today, I share what I’m finding, the spaces I’m styling, and ideas for seeing vintage and everyday objects a little differently. I’m drawn to classic interiors that feel warm rather than formal, collected rather than decorated, and beautiful without feeling too precious.

More than anything, I hope Blue Peony Interiors inspires you to trust your eye, take your time, and create a home filled with things you genuinely love.
